Bluegrass Chaos – End Grain Cutting and Serving Board
Woods used: black walnut, padauk, hard maple, purpleheart, wenge, and cherry. The center block features a chaotic end grain pattern that is framed by two true end grain borders: an inner maple border and a wider outer border of leopardwood. The leopardwood frame displays its striking face grain around all sides of the board.
This end grain board is built from a strong mix of premium hardwoods arranged in a striking pattern that makes it both functional and visually memorable. The end grain surface is gentle on knives, highly durable, and naturally resistant to visible scoring. It is designed for real use in the kitchen and will hold up to daily cutting without losing its clean appearance.
A thick end grain maple border is framed with leopardwood, giving the board a distinctive edge and a clear sense of structure. The grain of the leopardwood is truly exquisite. One inch solid brass feet with non slip, non marring black silicone inserts keep the board elevated and steady during use while protecting any countertop or table.
As with everything I build, this board is meant to be used and enjoyed, not stored away. It is finished with food-safe mineral oil and hand polished with cutting board wax. Every board includes a complimentary 4 oz tin of Larson Wood Designs Board Butter to help maintain its appearance over time.
Dimensions: 16 in x 10.75 in x 1.25 in
Name Origin:
The name Bluegrass Chaos comes from the mix of contrasting hardwoods, inspired by the character and spirit of Kentucky’s Bluegrass region.
