The Thoroughbred – End Grain Cutting and Serving Board
This end grain board is handcrafted from black walnut and hard maple. The natural colors of the hardwoods are undyed, letting the true character of each species stand out. The contrast between the patterned maple center and the deep walnut border gives this board a clean and refined look.
The Thoroughbred is meant to be used and enjoyed. End grain construction absorbs the impact from your knife, which helps reduce visible marks and keeps the surface looking clean even with regular use. It also puts less wear on your knife edges, so your knives stay sharper longer.
The board is finished with food safe mineral oil and then polished with my own blend of mineral oil and natural beeswax to protect the wood and bring out its natural color. One inch solid brass feet with non slip, non marring silicone inserts elevate the board, keep it steady, and protect any countertop or table. It works just as well for everyday prep as it does for serving charcuterie.

Name Origin: This board is named The Thoroughbred as a nod to Kentucky's world famous horse heritage. Its strong profile, clean lines, and bold contrast reminded me of the power and elegance of a Kentucky racehorse.
