The Pinnacles – 3D End Grain Cutting and Serving Board

I named this board The Pinnacles after the Berea Pinnacles, one of my favorite places to hike in Kentucky. The repeating stair-step pattern immediately reminded me of the climb through the hills and the many steps along the way, while the alternating peaks in the design reflect the ridgelines and overlooks that make the Pinnacles such a memorable place.
Handcrafted from black walnut, cherry, and hard maple, The Pinnacles features a repeating three-dimensional stair-step pattern that creates a strong optical effect across the entire surface. The contrast between the deep walnut, warm cherry, and lighter maple gives the board its depth and movement, while the natural grain in each species adds another layer of variation from block to block.
The colors come entirely from the natural wood itself without the use of dyes or stains. Every section was cut and arranged to create the repeating geometric pattern, giving the board a bold, architectural look while still allowing the character of the individual hardwoods to show through.
Beautiful enough to display and built to be used, The Pinnacles is a one-of-a-kind piece that works equally well for food preparation or serving. Its generous square format makes it well suited for charcuterie, breads, cheeses, appetizers, carved meats, desserts, or a full spread when entertaining. The three-dimensional pattern makes the board especially eye-catching when used as part of the presentation.
End grain construction is prized for its durability and knife-friendly surface. The wood fibers stand vertically, allowing the cutting surface to better absorb knife impact while helping reduce visible scoring and wear on your knife edges.
Every board is thoroughly conditioned with food-grade mineral oil, then protected with a hand-applied coat of natural beeswax and carefully buffed to a smooth satin finish. A complimentary 2 oz tin of Larson Wood Designs Board Butter is included to help keep your board looking its best for years to come.
